Gotthard tunnel traffic newsflash for April 2026. ​
Expect heavy increased traffic flows heading into the Easter long weekend April 2-Aptril 5th.

The Gotthard tunnel traffic jams will begin to increase already during the week of Easter heading south. Northbound return traffic will also be heavy after the long weekend.

Consider using the San Bernardino tunnel route heading through Chur and onwards to Zurich.
